Maria Zakharova, the ministry's spokeswoman, described the reports as “yet another” false story while attacking the US media. The Washington Post, New York Times and Buzzfeed News reported that the President passed on intelligence from a US ally to Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov and ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
