Online fury as passenger dragged off overbooked United flight
Social media anger sparked by footage of United Airlines forcibly removing a passenger from an overbooked flight showed no signs of abating Tuesday, with calls for a boycott of the US carrier. Such flights are operated by one of eight regional airlines that partner with United. The airline said it had asked for volunteers to give up their seats, and police were called in after one passenger refused to leave the plane.
